How to play

The case comes to you

You buy a case, answer a short private questionnaire and pick the day it starts. Then, for about 4 weeks, the story reaches you in your real life: emails, texts, calls, websites made for your case, and sometimes a real letter in your mailbox.

  • Pause anytime

Step by step

From checkout to your real life

No box to open, no party to host, nothing to install. Here is exactly what happens.

Right after payment

You buy, your code arrives

Pick a case and pay once. Your game code lands in your inbox right after payment. Giving it as a gift? Everything happens from that same email, at no extra cost.

Before it starts

A short private sign up

Your code opens a short questionnaire. Your answers build the case around your life: your first name, your town, your own words. No human reads it and you choose what you share. Rather invent something? Invent it. Only your mailing address has to be real.

Your call

You pick the day it starts

Start today or next month. Your code never expires, and the case waits for the date you choose.

About 4 weeks

Then it reaches your real life

Messages on your phone, real calls, emails, websites and videos made for your case, and sometimes a letter in your mailbox. The characters answer you, and they remember what you said. You never know when the next twist will arrive.

While you play

Never stuck. Never rushed.

Stuck? Open your dashboard

Your player dashboard holds your case file and built-in hints, from a small nudge to the full answer. Take only what you need, and you never stay stuck for long.

Your pace, mostly evenings

A few hours a week, mostly in the evening. Play for 20 minutes, come back tomorrow, take a week off if you need to. Nothing advances without you.

Questions before you start

How long does a case take?

About 4 weeks, a few hours a week, at your own pace. The story never advances without you: it waits at every step, so you can pause for a week and pick it back up exactly where you left off.

Do I have to wait 4 weeks to finish?

In Watcher Killer, no. The case is paced to unfold over about 4 weeks, but most waits between steps can be skipped with one tap, up to five times a week. Play it slow and let it creep in, or push through faster. Your call. This option is only in Watcher Killer for now.

What if I get stuck?

Open your player dashboard. Hints are built in, from a small nudge to the full answer, so you never stay stuck for long.

What do I need to play?

A smartphone, an email address and internet access. The Sinister Project also uses WhatsApp and Telegram, both free. The whole case is in English, and the letter is mailed to addresses in the United States.

Can I play with someone?

Yes. One game code is one investigation, built around one player: the messages, the calls and the mail reach that player. Sharing one copy as a couple works well, or gather around the same screen. If each of you wants a case of your own, take one copy each.

Is it scary? Is anyone really watching me?

It is a thriller, so expect tension and a few real chills. But it is fiction. It stays on your phone, on your screen and in your mailbox, nobody ever comes to your home, and you can pause or stop anytime. In Watcher Killer, night calls only happen if you allow them. For players 18 and over.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per case, with lifetime access. No subscription and no hidden fees.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes, at no extra cost. The game code arrives by email, and that email is all they need. They answer their own questionnaire, so the case is built around them, and they choose the day it starts.

Your phone is quiet. Not for long.

Pick a case, choose your start day, and keep your phone close.
