The game
What is Watcher Killer?
A real-life murder mystery game. A killer who has been watching people for years has chosen you, and for about 4 weeks the case plays out in your own life: messages, phone calls, videos and websites that exist for your case. You investigate from your phone and your computer, and the whole case is in English.
How is it different from a mystery box or an escape room?
There is no box to open and no room to book. Your case is built from your own answers and reaches you on your phone, in your inbox, on your computer and, in the United States, in your mailbox. It lasts about 4 weeks at your own pace, for $59 once.
How long does it take?
About 4 weeks, at your own pace. You choose the day it starts, and you can pause whenever you need to.
Do I have to wait 4 weeks to finish?
No. The case is paced to unfold over about 4 weeks, but most waits between steps can be skipped with one tap, up to five times a week. Play it slow and let it creep in, or push through faster. Your call.
How hard is it?
Advanced. There are more puzzles than in The Sinister Project. Hints are built in, from a small nudge to the full answer, so you never stay stuck for long.
Is it scary?
Tense, not gory. It is a psychological thriller you are inside of: being watched, being called, not knowing who is on the other end. It is fiction. It stays on your phone, on your screen and in your mailbox, and nobody ever comes to your home.
Can I play with someone?
Yes. One game code is one investigation: play it alone or gather people around the same screen.
Who makes Watcher Killer?
Murder Experience, the makers of The Sinister Project. Watcher Killer is our second case.
Do I need to have played The Sinister Project?
No. They are two separate cases in two separate worlds. Start with either one.
Made for you & privacy
Is it really personalized?
Yes. A short private questionnaire feeds the story engine before the case starts. Every puzzle, every picture and every message is then built around you: nothing you receive is generic.
Do you really mail me a letter?
Yes. One sheet of paper is mailed to the address you give, anywhere in the United States. Outside the United States, the same page reaches you by e-mail.
Is my personal information safe?
Your questionnaire is confidential, and you choose what you share. Your answers are only used by our story engine to build your case, and we never sell them.
Safety
Is anyone really watching me?
No. It is fiction. Nobody is really watching you and nobody ever comes to your home. Calls and messages only reach the number you give when you sign up.
Will he call me at night?
Only if you allow it. Night calls are a box you tick, or leave unticked, when you set up your case.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Watcher Killer is for players aged 18 and over. It is thriller fiction about a serial killer and stalking.
Buying & gifting
Is it a one-time payment?
Yes, $59 once. Lifetime access, no subscription and no hidden fees.
When do I get access?
Right away. Your game code arrives by email right after payment.
Can I buy both games at once?
Yes. Add both to your cart: you receive one game code per investigation.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes, for free. After checkout, tap “Make it a gift” in your code email and add their name, email and address. The killer contacts them first, with a Street View photo of their house and their address. Five minutes later, the reveal email brings their code. Rather hand it over yourself? Print the gift certificate instead.
